Beginning of integration tests of LABGENE turbo generators

The Ministry of Defense, Health, Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications and the Brazilian Navy (MB) held on June 8, at the Nuclear Industrial Center of Aramar (Iperó-SP), with the presence of the President of Republic, the ceremony Release of Cornerstone of the Brazilian Multipurpose Reactor (RMB) and the early integration testing of the nuclear – turbo Power Generation Laboratory (LABGENE).

The RMB is a nuclear reactor that will make Brazil self-sufficient in the production of radioisotopes – an essential input for the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals, of great importance for the treatment of diseases in several areas of medicine, such as cardiology, oncology, hematology and neurology.

LABGENE – an essential part of the Navy Nuclear Program (PNM) – is the prototype, on land, of the nuclear plant of the future submarine with Brazilian nuclear propulsion.

Brazilian Multi proposed Reactor (Rmb)

Under the responsibility of the National Nuclear Energy Commission, a subsidiary linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications, the Brazilian Multipurpose Reactor Complex will be erected in the municipality of Iperó, in an area of ​​2.04 million of m2, provided by the Brazilian Navy and the Government of the State of São Paulo, adjacent to the Nuclear Industrial Center of Aramar.
