China is preparing new nuclear sites

On September 3, the State Council Office held a press conference in Beijing. Liu Hua, deputy director of Ministry of Ecology and Environment and director of the National Nuclear Safety Administration attended the conference and revealed that the nuclear power projects, recently approved by the State Council in early 2019, are currently active in the preliminary preparation.

And in the next few months, Zhangzhou nuclear power project in Fujian Province, south of China and Huizhou Taipingling nuclear power project located in Guangdong will gradually enter the formal construction stage after the security review.

All new sites are now in “Site Preparation” phase.
