Commissioning of the Liebherr LR 13000 at the construction site of Akkuyu NPP in Turkey

The specialists of the UMIAT PJSC “SUS” lifting equipment operation site (holding “TITAN-2”) installed, tested, and commissioned the Liebherr LR 13000 at the construction site of Akkuyu NPP in Turkey.

The maximum lifting capacity of the Liebherr LR 13000 crane is 3,000 tons. The departure of its boom allows installation operations to be carried out simultaneously on two power units under construction. The Liebherr LR 13000 crane is mounted directly at the place where it will work, installed on the slabs on which it will move. The weight of the load-lifting mechanism is 3.5 thousand tons. The maximum lifting height is 149 meters; the maximum boom reach is 129 meters. The crane was delivered to the Akkuyu construction site by the sea. The total weight of the transported cargo was about 4,000 tons since the crane comes with additional equipment, including a loader.

Mechanics and crane operators of the UMIAT PJSC “SUS” will work with the crane. Liebherr trained the operators in the factory in Germany. The Liebherr LR 13000 crane, is used for the installation of the core catcher and the extensive equipment in the nuclear island.
