Completion of Benban solar park project with the possibility of adding more plants

Dr. Mohamed El-Khayat, Chairman of the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, confirmed the completion of the project to establish the largest complex of solar power plants in the area of “Benban” in Aswan Governorate.

Al-Khayyat said in press statements that, according to the schedule, a total of 32 plants, with a capacity of 1465 MW, were completed, last October, started commercial operation and connected to the national electricity grid. He pointed out that the Benban solar park accommodates the construction of 4 new solar power plants with a capacity of 200 MW.
