Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received a delegation from Huawei, including “Mark Shaw”, vice president of Huawei International and “Li Shi”, the CEO of Huawei UAE.
“Ahmed Al Muhairbi”, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai and “Abdul Rahim Sultan”, Director of the World Organization for Green Economy, also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation in various areas, related to: energy, R&D, artificial intelligence, information security, Block chain techniques and Internet of Things. As well as a number of other fields, including the development of infrastructure of intelligent networks via various mechanisms and technologies. Including smart meters for electricity and water services, Energy demand management, and self-recovery mechanisms for networks.
On the other hand, “Al Tayer” met with a high-level delegation from GE (General Electric), including “Aziz Mohammed”, CEO of GE’s Power Conversion business and Dr. “Dalia Al Muthanna”, CEO of “General Electric “In the Gulf region.
During the meeting, “Al Tayer” reviewed the most important projects and programs of the Authority. Most notably “the complex of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for Solar Energy”. He also reviewed the efforts of the Authority in the field of R&D of UAVs and 3D printing fields. Moreover, reviewing the achievements of the Authority in the initiative of “Shams Dubai”, that aims to encourage the owners of the buildings on the installation of photovoltaic solar systems to produce clean energy and link them to the network of (DEWA).
By strengthening cooperation with leading international companies, the Authority aims to strengthen Dubai World’s competitiveness and position and achieve the objectives of “Smart Dubai”, to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world.
