Fiber optic sensing technology in nuclear

Recently, a delegation led by Mr. Chen Wen, vice president of Wuhan University of Technology and Mr. Wang Lixin, the director of National Engineering Laboratory visited the Suzhou Institute of Thermal Engineering (Suzhou Institute), a subsidiary of China General Nuclear Corporation (CGN). The tripartite leadership signed the Joint Innovation Strategy Agreement, and urged all parties to establish a communication system and working Group as soon as possible to put the cooperation into practice.

The signing of the Joint Innovation Strategy Agreement will provide a strong technical support for the technical innovation and engineering application of the Suzhou Institute to accelerate the on-line condition monitoring, optimization maintenance, equipment longevity, nuclear security, firefighting and other services of the key equipment and components.

Visitors, in the company of Mr. Liu Jinhong, the assistant general manager, had a tour in the metal laboratory, and the test staff of the Suzhou Institute introduced Laboratory hardware and software facilities, and on the acquisition and use of some equipment.

* Wuhan University of Technology (WHUT) is the first to be included in the national “211 Project” key construction. Since the 90 ‘s, in the field of optical fiber sensing technology it has undertook more than 50 national research projects, and has achieved a large number of independent intellectual property rights of scientific and technological achievements, and is considered as the technology leader-fiber sensing technology National Engineering Laboratory.

*The National Engineering Laboratory of Optical fiber sensing technology was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2008 and invested in the construction of Wuhan University of Technology, and is committed to establishing the technical system and new industry of large-scale engineering and major equipment safety monitoring system based on optical fiber sensing technology. The existing construction area of 10000 square meters, has a group of advanced optical fiber micro-processing, information material preparation, optical sensing information processing and other aspects of equipment, equipment, the total value of 46.8 million yuan. The existing fixed researchers 60 people, visiting professors 8 people, Ph. D., master’s degree of nearly 200 people, is currently the largest optical fiber sensing technology field of research and development base and talent training base.
