First Egyptian company to join Rosatom in the construction of El Dabaa NPP

The Egyptian company “Elsewedy Electric” was the first Egyptian company to sign an agreement with the Russian company “Rosatom” to participate in the construction of El Dabaa nuclear power plant.

The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity has submitted a list of 10 Egyptian construction companies, to the Russian company “Rosatom”, to participate in the implementation of the nuclear power project in El Dabaa.

Press reports said those companies include Elsewedy Electric, Orascom Construction, Arab Contractors, Hassan Allam Holding and Petrojet.

The agreement, signed by Russia and Egypt in November 2015, includes the construction of a nuclear power plant in the area of ​​El Dabaa, of four units with a capacity of 1,200 MW each, and costs $26 billion.
