On September 4, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (National Nuclear Safety Administration) granted Permit to Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. to operate Fuqing Unit 5. Liu Hua, director of the National Nuclear Safety Administration, awarded this operating license and delivered a speech. Yu Jianfeng, chairman of China National Nuclear Corporation, and relevant departments of the National Nuclear Safety Administration, the National Energy Administration attended the meeting.
The meeting pointed out that Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5, adopting the third-generation nuclear power technology “Hualong One”, a completely China-owned intellectual property right, would play an important role in promoting the high-quality development of China’s nuclear power equipment manufacturing industry.
