Huge gas field discovery in the UAE

The United Arab Emirates announced the discovery of a natural gas field between the capital Abu Dhabi and the Emirate of Dubai, with an estimated stock of 80 trillion cubic feet!

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP), to develop the field discovered in a project launched with the name “Jebel Ali Project”, in relation to the field site located between Jebel Ali and Saih Al-Sadira.

According to the agreement, “ADNOC will invest and harness technology and expertise to develop and produce discovered gas resources, in addition to conducting new surveys and exploration in the region to assess more gas resources and conduct a final study of the cost of production,” while DUSUP will receive gas from “ADNOC”.

The discovery of the natural gas field in the area that extends over ​​5 thousand square kilometers, is among the largest discoveries of natural gas, with which the UAE’s reserves would reach 105 billion barrels crude, 273 trillion cubic feet conventional gas, and 160 trillion cubic feet of unconventional gas standard.
