Japan, US and China have a common nuclear power plant project in Turkey

In 2012, a Japanese company announced his will to be part of the nuclear power plant project which will be carried out in Turkey. In 2014, China and at the beginning of 2016 US showed their interests to that Project also.

Toshiba from Japon, Westinghouse from US and State Power Investment Corporation- SPIC from China will work together for the 3rd nuclear power plant to be constructed in İgneada, on Thrace region.

According to Japanese media, the consortium is expecting to conclude negotiations with the government on 2017 for the 3rd generation plant with 4 reactors and having the estimated coast of 2 billion yuan (17 billon dollars). The chairman of Westinghouse, Mr. Roderick announced that the Chinese part will be particularly supportive of funding. SPIC operates in 36 countries from Japan to Brazil with 107 GW capacity of energy. The total assets of the in these countries is 775 billion yuan (116 billion dollars).
