Jordan Begins Production of Yellow Cake

A specialized team from the Research Laboratories and Information Directorate at the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) has recently extracted Uranium from ores in central Jordan in order to begin production of yellow cake—this is seen as one of the fundamental components for capitalizing on the presence of Uranium in the country.

The team successfully extracted 25 grams of 90% pure yellow cake in the laboratory.

JAEC’s future plans for the continued extraction of Uranium will include the establishment of a pilot project to domestically produce yellow cake from Jordanian ores.
