Kazakhstan reduces the production of uranium

Kazakhstan National Atomic Energy Industry Corporation, from January to June 2020, produced 10,434 tons of uranium ore, down 3.4% year-on-year.

Among them, the Kazakhstan Atomic Energy Company’s share of uranium ore was 5,790 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7%. The main reason for reducing production was the decline of prospecting activities and the reduced number of employees in the second quarter.

During the statistical period, the sales volume of uranium ore of Kazakhstan National Atomic Energy Industry Corporation and its subsidiaries was 4220 tons, down 22% year-on-year; the average sales price was US$29.46/lb, up 13% year-on-year. In 2020, the company plans to produce 19 to 19,500 tons of uranium ore, of which 10,500 to 10,800 tons of uranium. In 2019, the National Atomic Energy Industry Corporation of Kazakhstan had 22,808 tons of uranium ore.
