KSA Cooperation in the Field of Nuclear Energy

In the framework of His Majesty the King of Spain, Philip VI and accompanying delegation to KSA were received by HE the President of K.A.CARE Dr. Hashem Abdullah Yamani.  During this meeting  aspects of mutual cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Spain in the scope of the peaceful use of atomic and renewable energy within the frame of Kingdom Vision 2030 were reviewed.  Afterwards H.M. together with HE the President of K.A.CARE toured Mishkat Interactive Exhibition which is considered one of K.A.CARE initiatives during which a movie entitled “the Kingdom of Sustainable Energy” was screened.

The meeting was attended by HE the Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel Ibn Zaid Al Traifi, the accompanying minister to HM the King and the Spanish ambassador to the Kingdom Mr. Joaquin Perez as well a number of K.A.CARE officials. ​

KSA cooperation extends to Africa also as the Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Falih said  that the kingdom will be launched in the coming weeks, a renewable energy program aims to reach 9.5 GW of renewable energy by the year 2023 with investments amounting to between 30 and 50 billion.

Falih said during one of the activities of the energy sector in Abu Dhabi that the kingdom would begin in the coming weeks the first round of tenders for projects under the program, which will produce ten gigawatts of electricity.

Falih said the electricity demand growth in the Kingdom of 8% per annum, which force the Saudi Electricity Company  to spend billions of dollars on projects to increase generation capacity.

Falih said the kingdom is working on ways to link their projects in the field of renewable energy, to Yemen, Jordan and Egypt, noting that the Kingdom will link itself to Africa for the exchange of non-fossil energy resources.
