New capacities to the Tunisian grid

Tunisian Minister of Industry, Salim Al Feriani, revealed the entry of first solar power plant in the Tozur state into production.

The station will begin work within the coming weeks and will provide an increase by an additional 1,000 MW over two years, which is equivalent to 20% of the energy provided by The Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) now.

The minister said, in answer to the questions of deputies in the plenary session of the Council, the new electricity generation stations in Rhades and Mrnaquia and Aamri Tower will be initiated and provide another 1000 MW, reaching 40% of the total electricity provided by STEG.
