Nuclear clustering projects in Turkey

The Nuclear Industry project is one of the Export Oriented Localization projects (UR-GE Project). It has been realized with the purpose of localization of the nuclear power plants (NPP) in Sinop and Akkuyu projects.

 

ASO Nuclear Cluster

Project Period: December 2014 / December 2017
Final beneficiaries: Thirty companies, members of the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), are willing to take part in the nuclear sector.
Activities carried out within the scope of the project:

Gap Analysis: The gap analysis assessment and reporting started in February 2015 with ASO member firms in the project was completed as of October 2015.

The project continued with training, consultancy and foreign marketing activities in 2016.
Trainings: Nuclear Quality Assurance System and Nuclear Quality Documentation, Nuclear Standards and Product Codes in Industry – Differences Between Product Codes and Standards

Activities: Trade Mission in France and Czech Republic, and participation to the World Nuclear Exhibition in Paris and VVER 2016 Conference in Prague.

 

NÜKSAK (Nuclear Industry Cluster)
Project Period: 2017/2022
Final Beneficiary: Companies that are producing in the corresponding class of nuclear industry and that are involved in the project group from Ankara, Istanbul and Adana.
Ankara Chamber of Industry received a project support of 32 Million TL from the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology on May 2, 2017.

This project aims:

  • To identify the physical infrastructure and technological needs for the local industrial organizations willing to manufacture for the nuclear power plants;
  • To certify their products in compliance with international nuclear standards;
  • To enter into foreign markets with international B2B activities.According to Nurettin Özdebir, chairman of the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), the clustering strategy aims to build a local supply chain and to reach the quality required in the nuclear power plants.
