Rosatom faces lack of local human resource in the Middle East

Rosatom announced that the Middle East countries that have nuclear programs, including Jordan, need for a single nuclear plant 750 specialists from professionals at various levels and rehabilitation:

  • The nuclear plant needs engineers in the field of nuclear energy
  • The nuclear physicists
  • The nuclear reactor operators
  • The crew of experts in response to emergencies
  • Managers
  • Back-office staff and others.

The list of Middle East countries that have nuclear programs, according to the statement, in addition to Jordan,are Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, and it is expected that countries such as Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco to follow suit in the near future.

The countries having new nuclear power projects do not have the infrastructure to supply the right human resources and relies mostly on foreign experts.

Creating customized training system in nuclear energy is necessary for each country wants to diversify energy sources and develop its nuclear program for peaceful purposes.

Russia receives each year between 200-300 students to complete their courses, and this year the total number will exceed 1,300 students, currently studying in the high Russian educational institutes in atomic disciplines 1088 foreign students from 28 countries and 315 students from 37 countries will arrive during the month of September to start training courses in Russian universities.
