Russia and China signed the construction of 2 units in Tianwan

Russia and China signed a contract for the construction of units 7 and 8 of the Tianwan nuclear power plant According to the official note, the corresponding contract was signed by Rosatom and the CNNC.

The approval of this cooperation was given in June of last year, when both countries signed the largest package of agreements on nuclear cooperation in their history, coinciding with the meeting held in Beijing by President Xi Jinping and his delegation with Vladimir Putin.

Both leaders attended the ceremony in which the president of Rosatom, Alexei Likachev, and the head of the Chinese state energy agency, Nur Bekri, signed four agreements, which provide for the construction of four new units in two Chinese nuclear plants.

The commissioning of units 7 and 8 of the Tianwan nuclear plant is expected to take place in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
