At the beginning of March, a meeting of the Russian-Czech intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation was held in Prague. The delegations were headed by Denis Manturov Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Martha Nováková from the Czech Republic. At the final press conference, both ministers assessed the outcome of the IPC meeting as successful.
The Czech Republic is discussing with Rosatom to build Temelin and Dukovany nuclear power plants, provided that Czech companies participate in these projects, said President Milos Zeman at the talks with Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov.
Denis Manturov confirmed Russia’s interest in participating in this project and it is expected that in the near future the Czech side will give the Russian more detailed information on it.
In addition, issues related to cooperation with countries such as Egypt, Slovakia, the cooperation in the aviation industry and the initiative of the Czech side to build the Danube-Oder-Elbe navigable canal were discussed by both sides.
