Tunisia Launches its First Public Auction for Renewable Energy

In November 2017, the Tunisian government will launch its first public auction for renewable energy. The government will put about 70 MW of solar energy and 140 MW of wind energy into auction. This auction is a good opportunity for Tunisia to expand its renewable and alternative energy projects.

Tunisia is planning to distribute 10 MW for each solar energy project and 30 MW for each wind energy project. These projects are expected to be advanced projects and will be sold during the auction with long-term contracts.

In this auction, Tunisia is planning on presenting 1 GW of its renewable energy for interested partners for the period between 2017-2020, as a part of its agenda of increasing the use of ecofriendly energy.
