Zorlu Energy, a Turkish investor for the first wind power plant to Pakistan added another 100 MW solar project to its existing 100 MW solar energy investment in the past few weeks.
Ahmet Zorlu, Chairman of Zorlu Holding attended the signing ceremony of the intentional agreement held in Ankara with the participation of Binali Yıldırım, the Prime Minister of Turkey, Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and officials from both countries. He said that Pakistan was the first foreign country in which the company invested in the field of renewable energy an added: “We are very happy to grow our investments in solar energy, which we believe is one of the most important energy sources of future. We aim to enlarge our group’s and Turkey’s commercial area in the region with this new renewable energy investment that will provide 100 MW solar energy when finished.”
Sinan Ak, the President of Zorlu Energy Group added that his group is taking an important step to add new investment to their existing 100 MW Quaid-e-Azam project in Pakistan. “Pakistan is a friendly country and an important center for our renewable energy investments. As a company that has experienced the first wind energy project in Pakistan, we are very pleased to sign new reference projects in solar energy.” He mentioned their further goal of reaching 300 MW of solar energy investments with a new project planned for Punjab province in Pakistan.
