On May 3, Chairman Qian Zhimin of State Power Investment Corporation(SPIC)received Berat Albayrak, Minister of Energy and Natural Resourcesof Turkey.
Qian Zhimin stated during the talks that SPIC attaches great importance to the Turkish energy market and has already carried out important business in the areas of thermal power investment, power station operation and maintenance service.
“At present, both sides have reached an important consensus on cooperation in nuclear power projects. In the future, they will continue to consolidate and develop strategic cooperation and promote the smooth implementation of major projects.”
Albayrak stated that the relationship between China and Turkey is of strategic significance. The Turkish government expectsa lot from the cooperation with SPIC in nuclear energy, since SPIC has no projects overseas. Turkey’s energy demand and improved regional influence creates ample room for cooperation with SPIC, and Turkey is craving for investors.
Turkish ambassador to China Abdulkadir Emin Önen, and the deputy governor of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources as well as Wei Suo, deputy general manager of SPIC, International Business Department, Thermal Power and Electricity Sales Department attended the meeting.
