Women’s health at the heart of the Congress of Nuclear Medicine

The XXXII Brazilian Congress of Nuclear Medicine, organized by the Brazilian Society of Nuclear Medicine (SBMN) discussed the main challenges and advances of nuclear medicine, in Brazil and worldwide. In addition, Women’s Health was the theme in the agenda.

The Forum of Patients, on the first day, was open to the public, with the purpose of clarifying diagnoses and treatments to combat cancer. To enhance the debate, the roundtable will feature experts, health institutions and patients. Minister Sérgio Etchegoyen, responsible for the Federal Government’s Office of Institutional Security, gave a lecture on “The Importance of the Brazilian Nuclear Program”.

Representatives of the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN) participated in the roundtable to discuss the licensing and control procedures of Nuclear Medicine facilities. Scientific programming with topics such as teranthosis in prostate cancer, radioiodine therapy, radiopharmaceuticals in the treatment of infection, among others were discussed on the last day.
