SPIC develops more opportunities in Northeastern China

On June 3, Jiang Yi, general manager of the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), met with Zhang Zhijun, secretary of Baishan Municipal Party Committee of Jilin Province, northeast of China, at his headquarters. Two sides conducted in-depth exchanges of views on nuclear power plant site protection, nuclear energy heating project development and cogeneration unit operation, and reached a consensus.

Jiang Yi said that SPIC will fully guarantee the winter heating in Baishan City by giving full play to its technological advantages in the field of clean energy, and actively promote the nuclear energy heating demonstration project. It is hoped that the pragmatic cooperation would promote the urban transformation of Baishan City.

Zhang Zhijun resonated that Baishan City is undergoing energy structure adjustment and attaches great importance to the nuclear energy heating project. It will fully support the preliminary work of the project and unswervingly push forward the project. At the same time, it will take effective measures to protect the location of nuclear power plants and improve the operation of thermal power companies to promote mutual benefit and win-win results.
